Hi! I'm Hugo, a 22-year-old french student in Software Engineering, based in Paris, France.
As a child, I wanted to imitate and recreate the world as I saw it. That's why I became interested in computers at an early age: so I could create my own programs and reproduce what I saw. My experience in this field soon turned into a passion that has since never left me.
From simple Batch scripts to real applications, I've come a long way and acquired many skills, and I don't intend to stop there! Along the way, I've also had the opportunity to take an interest in many other fields, such as music (I compose, play and record my own tracks), photography, editing and special effects (very useful when it comes to having to report on a project using video).
What I love most about programming is the ability to create. My goal is to succeed in imagining and bringing to life experiences, as well as inspiring others.
I'm currently looking for an opportunity to launch my career in software engineering and would be delighted to consider any end-of-study internship offer for 6 months starting in March 2025 or later, in North America or Europe.
I'm a student in Software Engineering at the French engineering school EFREI Paris, in my last year of studies. I've learned many aspects of computer engineering, from theoretical and applied mathematics to high-level software design and architecture, as well as low-level programing and hardware design.
I've also had the chance to study abroad in the USA for a semester at the University of California, Irvine, where I was able to experience a different educational system and culture.
I've had the opportunity to take part in several internships in a variety of fields and contexts. From public service to banking to startups, here they are in chronological order.
Since I'm very curious and like to get to the bottom of things, I've tinkered with many technologies and aspects of software engineering.
Over the years (I started coding when I was 10, 12 years ago! ), I encountered many technologies and languages, some of which I still use today! Below is a list of technologies I use regularly or are worth noting, but feel free to check my projects for more!
And whatever the technology, I'm always eager to learn!
Thanks to my numerous hobbies, I have also learned tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Capture One, Adobe After Effects, Maxon Cinema4D, Presonus Studio One, BlackMagic DaVinci Resolve, and many more...
My end-of-study internship will be the last step before I graduate. I see it as my chance to put into practice everything I've learned during my studies and internships, to learn even more, and kickstart my career in software engineering.
My school has put several constraints on this internship:
Are you based in the United States? I don't need to be sponsored to work in the USA!
As my sponsor, CIEE is authorized by the U.S. government to issue the necessary documentation for me to obtain a J-1 visa, which allows me to train legally in the U.S for up to 12 months. I will also arrive with my sponsor provided, full coverage health insurance. Click here for the details of this private health insurance.
J-1 Visa participants are exempt from the following taxes:
Further information on tax exemptions in the J-1 program can be found on CIEE's website.
By participating in the J-1 Visa program, you will be contributing to the United State's cultural exchange and public diplomacy policies and will benefit from the support of CIEE for the duration of the internship.
